Zen and Lady -- Zen, the doberman, is a survivor of the 2011 tornados that ripped through Tuscaloosa, Al. Lady, was also a survivor of the April 27th tornado. A Boston Terrier mix, her personality made everyone fall in love with her. Unfortunately, when cops came to her house on a false lead, she ran out when they busted down the door. As her owner was trying to coaxed her back into the house, she was shot seven times by the police and killed. She never growled, barked, or made a sound. Her only crime was being excited that people were there to visit. Rest in peace sweet Lady, you are greatly missed.

Sam Hill aka "Sammy" was a stray found by a preacher sitting between the bodies of his dead siblings. After the kind preacher buried his siblings together, he took Sammy to a rescue that was already full-- but with that face and that story the rescue couldn't say no. They named him Sam Hill because they "didn't know what in the Sam Hill" they were going to do with him. Now, he's going to a rescue in Florida where he will find his forever home.
